Hello, and welcome to my web store Purvaka! Purvaka is a Sanskrit word meaning "to be proceeded by" or "what's come before."
I'm Shannon Berry and I am an Artist, Photographer, and Multi-Media Designer. I have been published in several magazines and have sold countless works internationally. I also design websites, print ads, brochures, and business cards.
I was born in New Jersey on December 31st, 1974, and I have lived in upstate New York as a teen, Arizona as an adult, and now live in Southeastern Colorado with my husband and two wonderful children. I have lived a life full of many paths and many more shoes. From silver spoon, to hardship, and back again (and again). A life well traveled with many more adventures to come.
I enjoy creating for the sake of doing it. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to my work, while other times could be a very personal journey that I have undertaken.
I use many different mediums for my artistic ventures. When I paint I prefer oils (but have been known to use acrylics) on my self stretched and gessoed canvases. When I take photos I'm using an Olympus Evolt E-500 DSLR Camera and print in color, black & white and sepia tones.
